Macon, Georgia — We conclude Hypesouth’s 2023 Camp Series with an in-depth look at the Up Next Developmental Expo, our middle school event focusing on up and coming sixth, seventh, and eighth graders. Team Hype went undefeated on the day and included five camp standouts and the top overall sixth grader.
(5) Quentin Jackson, 2030, Bonaire MS
Hypesouth Up Next 6th Grader
Jackson was arguably the most skilled offensive player in attendance. He had his way putting the ball in the hole no matter the opponent. The Bonaire Middle product was awarded Hypesouth’s Up Next Sixth Grader following camp. Write this name in your notepads for future reference.
(13) Karon Plummer, 2028, Feagin Mill MS
There was a consensus among camp staff about Plummer’s budding skillset. He has grown a few inches and looked comfortable playing on or off the ball. The Feagin Mill eighth grader easily got to sweet-spots, consistently finished over smaller opponents, and was tabbed a camp standout. We think it’s safe to say that Plummer is starting to turn the corner.

(39) Jacob Price, 2028, Clifton Ridge MS
Price has a quiet demeanor, but his lead by example approach spoke loud. He constantly settled things down and made impact plays that didn’t show up in the box score earning himself camp standout recognition.

(43) Jamar Johnson, 2028, Fort Valley MS
Big, physical athlete that displayed elite versatility on both sides of the ball. Offensively, he did damage inside-out and was identified as a camp standout.

(37) DJ Benton, 2031, Bonaire Elementary
Benton was the youngest in attendance. He is a fierce competitor that looked beyond his years and wasn’t afraid to mix it up. His high energy end-to-end turned heads and earned him camp standout honors.

(26) Elisha Banks, 2030, Howard MS
Banks took and hit key baskets all day for Team Hype. He did not shy away when the action got heated. We were also impressed with his overall knowledge of the game.

(17) Ayden Scott, 2030, Bonaire MS
Scott is yet another camp standout that suited up for Team Hype. He played with great pace enabling him to get by guys with his stop-and-go style. With continual fine-tuning, Scott could be a name we hear from in the coming years.
