Macon, Georgia — Another Unsigned Hype Camp is in the books and we’re back with our team-by-team breakdowns. We take pride in evaluating each kid that attends our camps for a multitude of reasons. Every year there are a few prospects that make names for themselves and this year was no different. Here’s a look at Team 2.
Tobias Rice, Class of 2024, Southwest-Macon
The 6-foot-9 class of 2024 forward is an intriguing prospect with a huge upside. He showed athleticism & versatility and has had several college coaches check in on him following camp.
Chase Dupree, Class of 2026, Southwest-Macon
Dupree let the game find him and was productive as a result. He simply played the right way, so it’s easy to see why Division-I programs are hot on his trail. Mercer and North Carolina A&T have extended offers.
Brandon Ashley, Class of 2025, Southwest-Macon
Ashley is a pure shooter from beyond the arc, but his playmaking ability and on-ball defense are underrated parts of his game. The all-state guard has an offer from North Carolina A&T and will likely turn more heads this season.
Tyshawn Brantley, Class of 2025, Southwest-Macon
Brantley was always seemingly in the right place at the right time. This kid’s nose for the ball will surely earn him valuable minutes during the school ball season.
Jalen Whitley, Class of 2027, Westside-Macon
After dealing with injuries over the past year, Whitley re-emerged and picked up where he left off. He had an overall good day and looks ready to make the transition to high school.
Kyle Jefferson, Class of 2025, Southwest-Macon
Jefferson is a new name that emerged. At 6-foot-5, the big-bodied Southwest-Macon post was strong on the interior and showed flashes facing up attacking the basket.
Kaden Douglas, Class of 2024, Jones County
Douglas is a player that many aren’t too familiar with, but that will change real soon. The Jones County product can flat out hoop and college coaches should contact Greyhounds HC Buck Harris now.
