The off the ball, perimeter prospects at this year’s Girl’s Unsigned Hype Camp were fun to watch. They scored efficiently at every level and flourished without the ball in their hands. Let’s take a look at a few that turned heads.

Desirae Dumas, 2028, Jones County

Dumas proved why she is one of the top wing players in the area. At 5-foot-11, she utilized her size and skillset to put the ball in the basket. The lefty junior knocked down jumpshots at a high rate and got to the rim at will. Her smooth offensive style has caught the attention of schools like Flagler and the University of Fort Lauderdale prompting them to extend official offers.

Destinee Dumas, 2028, Jones County

Destinee has a good feel for the game and was in the right place at the right time offensively. She found fifty-fifty balls and capitalized on second chance opportunities. College coaches seeking an off the ball perimeter player with size should sniff around here. Don’t be surprised to see the Jones County standout move up some recruiting boards this season.

Caylin Mathis, 2028, Central-Macon

Mathis is an athletic prospect that rebounded well and thrived in transition. She was most effective getting the ball off the glass and starting the fast break. She could be in line for a breakout season if she continues to put it all together.

Laila Howard-Haney, 2027, Warner Robins

Laila competes hard defensively on the ball and hustles on both sides of the ball. She got her hands on passes, forced turnovers, and also looked comfortable shooting the ball in drive-and-kick action. Solid player that has next level potential.

Domonique Billue, 2028, Westside-Macon

Billue’s  athleticism and raw talent were easy to see. She got to her sweet spots with ease and made effortless plays as an offensive creator. Her versatility allowed her to guard multiple positions defensively and be effective from several positions on the other end.

Bre’Elle King, 2028, Westside-Macon

After missing all of last season due to injury, King looked to be 100 percent ready. She pushed the ball and played at full speed from start to finish. She’s another intriguing prospect who could be ready to make a name for herself. We’ll be monitoring her progression closely throughout the season.

JaMyree Simmons, 2028, Central-Macon

Simmons played great in spurts. At times she looked to be as good as advertised and then there were moments she seemed uninterested. Nonetheless, at 6-foot with the ability to stretch the floor, score in bunches, and time to mature into a more consistent player the ceiling is endless.
