The time has come again to recognize our annual Hypesouth Ms. Middle Georgia Basketball recipient. Past winners include Stacie Jones (Veterans/Kennesaw State),  Trajata Colbert (Wilcox/Wichita State), Danasia Shaw (Peach County/Jacksonville University), Gabbi Cartagena (Jackson/Troy), and Madison Ruff (Baldwin/Mount St. Mary’s) among others. With that said, let’s meet this year’s finalists.

Collegiate programs like Mercer, South Alabama, UNC Charlotte, and UNC Wilmington to name a few have already offered the talented class of 2027 prospect.

Jazlyn Johnson & Frances Anyakudo, Central-Macon, Seniors

Janaye Walker & Kassidy Neal, Baldwin, Seniors

Walker, the 2023 Hypesouth Ms. Middle Georgia Basketball recipient is back in the running and trying to become the first girl’s prospect to win the award twice. Nariah Nelson, Veterans, Junior

Nelson has already surpassed the 1000-point mark with another year left to play. The versatile eleventh grade wing is one of the top scorers in the area and is garnering some low to mid level attention from schools like Kennesaw State and Furman. Xavier and Shorter University have offered.
