Every year there are underclassman lead guards who carve out key roles on their respective squads and this season will be no different. Here a some that we believe will turn heads this season and beyond.

1 Deshonvaris Lundy, Peach County, Class of 2030

Lundy is small in stature but brings a big game with him. We’re still a little cloudy on how big of a role he will have for the Trojans this season, but have full confidence he’ll be ready when his number is called. Remember the name Deshonvaris Lundy.

15 Tre Embry, Veterans, Class of 2029

We fully expect Embry to build off an all-region freshman campaign. The reigning Hypesouth Middle Georgia Freshman of the Year averaged 8.9 points, threw 2.3 assists, grabbed 3.5 rebounds, and collected 1.5 steals per game in year one and we believe those numbers will increase across the board this season.

5 Jaylyn Wilson, Southwest-Macon, Class of 2029

Wilson didn’t play many varsity minutes as a freshman, but is in line to see a major role increase this season. He’s fearless, skilled, and has one of the highest basketball-IQ’s around, so don’t be surprised to see him burst onto the scene in a major way.

11 Mykell Barnes, Central-Macon, Class of 2029

Barnes was a spot starter for the Chargers in year one and will more than likely be handed the keys to the team as a sophomore. He has a smooth offensive package which bodes well for Coach Andre Taylor’s squad.

10 Jace Harris, Rutland, Class of 2029

Harris split time between junior varsity and varsity as a freshman which was great for his development. The talented sophomore is a relentless offensive rim attacker who is also an on-ball pest defensively. We have Harris on breakout alert heading in the 2026-27 season.
