The 2025-26 basketball season is almost upon us. In a couple weeks, official practices and games will begin in the Peach State and we will start to get answers to some of the area’s most intriguing questions. Can Wilcox win back-to-back state titles? Will Jones County take the next step towards contending for a state championship? Can Warner Robins’ junior phenom get the Demonettes back to the promised land? Is Baldwin ready to bounce back?
If you have any questions concerning the hoop landscape in the midstate, we got you covered. And there’s no better place to start than with our preseason All-Middle Georgia teams.
Last year, Aubrey Norris led Jones County to a Sweet 16 appearance en route to All-State, All-Region, and All-Area selections. The Lady Greyhound senior put everyone on notice this offseason on the travel ball scene where she earned high praise from regional evaluators and a collegiate offer from Middle Georgia State University. Expect Norris’ name to start buzzing statewide as the season progresses.
The only returning first-teamer, Trinitee Thomas has a real shot to lead the Demonettes back to the state title game. Right now, nobody in Middle Georgia is more sought after on the recruiting trail than the Warner Robins standout. Division-1 programs like Florida Atlantic, Houston, Mercer, and Kennesaw State to name a few are in hot pursuit.
The reigning Region 2-2A Co-Player of the Year averaged 17.7 points, 5.4 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 1.1 blocks per game as a freshman. Skilled, competitive and talented, Domonique Billue will not only be Westside-Macon’s best player, but possibly the best prospect in the midstate.
Jaydah Ford has an impressive résumé over a three-year span. The Taylor County native is a three-time All-Region selection and was named Region Defensive Player of the Year in 2023-24. She’s also led the Lady Vikings to two Final Four appearances. At the moment, Ford is out dealing with a lower leg injury but we fully expect her to pick up where she left off once she returns.
In her first two seasons, Suri Clark lived in the shadows of Janaye Walker and Kassidy Neal, but with the departure of the aforementioned bigs we’re looking for Clark to be more assertive. The 6-foot-2 power forward has shown early flashes of dominance and will have even more of an opportunity to breakout with an expanded role.
The engine that makes the Lady Patriots go, Zariah Martin guided Wilcox to a class A-D2 state title in 2024-25. She led the way throwing in 14.7 points and handing out 4.2 assists per game. You’d be hard-pressed finding someone that competes at a higher level.
A two-time All-Region performer, Jade Kitchens is among the top statistical leaders in almost every category. Nobody has been more consistent than the Sandersville, Georgia junior.
Perhaps the area’s most productive player last year, Jaziyah Foster is a flat out baller who just gets the job done. Lamar County needs her to continue to lead, and we believe she’ll answer the call.
Coming off an offseason ankle injury, Kamiyah Adams remains one of the most respected players in Middle Georgia. A do-it-all workhorse, she might very well help lead Jones County on a deep playoff run.
Ava Jenkins is as talented as any player in Georgia’s 2028 class and we believe she has a real chance in this year’s race for Hypesouth’s top honor, Miss Middle Georgia Basketball.
Poised to become the Gryphons go-to player, Kholie Stanley is on a mission to get the respect she deserves. She’ll be an impact player in the mid-Peach State for years to come. Remember the name.
The All-Region first teamer is always in attack mode. Journey Waller’s all-around game improved tremendously last season and should continue to do so in 2025-26.
Jada Smith’s competitive edge and defensive instincts make her a priority prospect. When you combine that with her ability to attack the basket and make people pay knocking down the long-ball there’s a lot to like about the Eastside product.
A junk-yard-dog player who posted 18.2 points, 9.6 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per game, Morgan Cochran had major success in the GHSA State Tournament with Macon County last season. Her next challenge is helping the Lady Dogs bring the title back to Montezuma, Georgia
Taylor Johnson gets the preseason All-Area nod following strong summer showings at the GBCA high school live event and team camps in June. She is an experienced leader who has seen a lot, so don’t be surprised to see her make Northside-Warner Robins respectable again.
