Hypesouth Elite Head Basketball Coach Armand Burnett has been appointed as New Director for the Macon County (GA) Parks and Recreation Department. Previously, he served seven years as an athletic coordinator for the Macon-Bibb Parks and Recreation Department. Burnett brings with him an experienced leader who will be proactive in improving the Macon County community.

BIO

Burnett is a Macon, Georgia native. He is a devoted Christian and twenty-eight year member of St. John Baptist Church. Further, he is a graduate of Southwest-Macon (GA) High School. Post high school, Burnett attended Neosho County Community College before transferring over to Savannah State University, where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Parks & Recreation Administration-Sports Management.

He is the husband of Tamika Burnett (13 years) as well as proud father of two beautiful kids, Amari Burnett (14) and Taliyah Burnett (8).

Standing at 6-foot-8, Burnett was an above average basketball player in his day. He enjoyed a very successful playing career and now enjoys coaching, mentoring, and sharing his knowledge with youth.
