Class of 2018, 4-star hoop standout, Sharone Wright Jr. held over fifteen HM D-1 offers before finally deciding to commit to Wake Forest University this morning. Along with Wake, Clemson, Kansas State, South Carolina, and Syracuse were also in the mix. The 6-foot-5 guard is the son of Clemson Hall of Famer and Ex-NBA player Sharone Wright Sr.

Wright Jr. explains his decision, “Coach Danny Manning really made me feel comfortable everytime I talked with him. Just their interest in me along with the opportunity to come in and play right away really made it an easy decision. Also, my relationship with Coach Randolph Childress really was a major factor. You know, Coach Childress is one of the best point guards to ever suit up for Wake and I just felt like he could really teach me the right way to play the position. I am really excited to follow in the footsteps of guys like Coach Childress and Chris Paul. Most importantly, I wanted to end the recruiting process before the start of my senior season so that I could put all of my focus on basketball next season.”

With other top hoopsters such as Ja’Vonte Smart, Jaylen Hoard, and Isaiah Mucius to name a few on their class of 2018 big board, expect Wake Forest to return to prominence if they are able to land these talented prospects.
