NORCROSS BLUE DEVILS

Ranked No. 32 nationally and No. 7 in the GHSA Class 7A division, the Norcross Blue Devils bring their star studded cast to Atlanta, Georgia for the Holiday Hoopsgiving Showcase. They return their starting five from a year ago and have solid depth coming off of the bench. In the frontcourt they’re led by UGA signee, Rayshaun Hammonds and 6-foot-9 Lance Thomas. Hammonds is a 6-foot-8 forward that can play both inside and outside, while Thomas is more of a defender and rebounder. In addition to their great play upfront, Norcross possesses above average talent in the backcourt with Jordan Goldwire and Kyle Sturdivant.

Given their experience and overall team chemistry, the Blue Devils seem to have a bit of an edge in their day two matchup against the new look Westside-Macon Seminoles.

WESTSIDE-MACON SEMINOLES

Westside is ranked No. 2 in the GHSA Class 3A division preseason polls. With the additions of local transfers Trey Foster and 6-foot-10 Kentrevious Jones, the Seminoles open the 2016-17 season with very high expectations. Foster is one of the premier guards in the Middle Georgia area. The 6-foot-2 senior joins Samone Reed in the backcourt. The talented duo were both All-Middle Georgia selectees last season and are one of the more underrated backcourts in the entire state. The aforementioned Jones, a Xavier University signee, pairs with 5-star phenom Khavon Moore in the frontcourt. Moore is arguably the most versatile player in the entire tournament. The 6-foot-9 junior averaged 20.7-points, 11-rebounds, 4.1-assists, 3.1-blocks, and 2.6-steals per game last season and holds over 20+ HM D-1 offers.

Westside undoubtedly has the talent and depth to match up with Norcross, but the way they gel together will be key in this game and will ultimately decide their overall success this season.
