FAGAN CHOOSES MTSU

Kowacie Reeves | September 12, 2017

Middle Tennessee is putting together a solid 2018 recruiting class thanks to early pledges from a pair of Georgia standouts. Last week, the Blue Raiders landed their first 2018 commitment from Gainesville (GA) High small forward KJ Buffen. This morning, Upson-Lee star Tye Fagan informed Coach Kermit Davis that he would also be bringing his talents to Murfreesboro, Tennessee. For MTSU, reeling in the 3-star combo guard is a huge win on the recruiting front.

Fagan is rated the No.3 overall prospect in our Middle-Georgia rankings.

In His Words…

It came down to Middle Tennessee and the College of Charleston. The decision was a tough one because of the bond I formed with Coach Grant down at the College of Charleston, he is truly a great man. But at the end of the day, I just felt like I was a Middle Tennessee guy. I’ve kind of known from the beginning that this was the place for me. They were the first to offer and they never wavered, so that meant a lot. Also, the opportunity to come in and play right away obviously played a part, but most important is the direction of the program. Last year, they won the Conference-USA regular season and post season championships and made it to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. That’s big for me because I’m a winner.
